You Gotta Love Mike Huckabee's Stubornness

Mike Huckabee

You have to give it to Mike Huckabee.   The more we know of him, the more  hilarious he becomes.  I love his determination and his stubbornness.  But, its not just stubbornness.  He made an amazing point when he said he is staying in the race to  give voters a choice.  That is so profound to me.  With choices we are empowered.  And, the opposite of empowerment, in my view, is entrapment.  I admire him for staying the course with all of the odds against him.  It speaks mounds of selflessness and integrity.

Mit Romney on the other hand dropped out of the race at such an early stage.  I believe this was a huge disservice to his supporters.   It was selfish and self serving and this shows his phoniness. Forget the commitment of his supporters, if his dropping out might earn him a good chance at the nomination in 2012. I say phony because he always seem to change his views based on what is convenient for him on any given day.  He reminds me of those phony corporate rats who will do anything to get to the top.  In my view he can't be trusted.

But back to my new found pal - Mike Huckabee.  You have to admire his sportsmanship in appearing on SNL.  The only thing I  would have done differently is when he was given the hint to leave the news counter is have him say, "I'm not leaving until I am good and ready.  Then have the newscasters say goodnight, have them turn off the lights and leave Huckabee in the dark, spinning in the chair and whistling or singing "Its my party and I'll leave when I'm ready."  That would have been hilarious.  Note to SNL - hire me as a writer.

As someone once said, with Politics, if nothing else, you are sure to get a good laugh.
