What Defines Old Age?

For some people, increasing in age makes them anxious about aging.  For others, aging is defined by wrinkles and for some its weight.  I don't really get anxious about those things.  No, for me old age isn't defined by  numbers - not even aches and pains.  For me the definition of old age is false teeth.  My dentist told me that I should get partials and they would be towards the back of my mouth.  But still, the thought of false teeth makes me anxious.  I told him that thats the definition of old age and he laughed.  He tried to console me by telling me I'm still young.  I just can't get the picture of a glass and water and soaking teeth out of my mind when I think of partials.  Face it, it has Grandma written all over it.  I don't know why I should feel this way though.  After all, I was even carded (asked to show ID) a little while back when I ordered wine at a restaurant.  What a compliment!!!!!

When you think about it, people wear false hair, false nails and false "boobs" all the time.  Why should false teeth be any different.  Nowadays, everything is so plastic. When I think about this multi billion dollar cosmetic industry there really isn't any reason for me to feel anxious,  what with veneers and all.  These are false teeth in a sense, and almost all of Hollywood have them.  Aaah, I feel a little better now.  See how therapeutic writing or talking to oneself can be?  You should try it.  Better yet, send a comment to this blog and let me know if you think aging bites, or sucks - ooops, those pesky puns keep getting in the way.
